This article picks up once your compensation event is priced and your quotation is ready (Creating, editing and quoting a compensation event (NEC)). It covers sending it, tracking it, reminders, and publishing the agreed value into your activity schedule or BOQ.

Open the Compensation Event
If in the sidebar view, scroll to the bottom and select Send notice/quotation
If in the CE, go to Summary, scroll to the bottom and select Send notice/quotation

Preview the PDF to check what the recipient will see.
In the email window, choose the To recipient, which is usually the Project Manager. Named parties from your contract details are suggested, and you can add other contacts, or add a contact from the window itself.
Add a Copy to recipients if needed.
Choose which attachments go with it, such as the quotation and supporting documents.
Select Send. The event moves to the next status, and the date sent is recorded in its history.
The email is sent in your name and company, and replies come back to you.
Recording something you sent yourself

If you issued the notice or quotation outside Coreloops, you can still keep the event up to date.
Download the PDF, or use your own document.
Change the status manually to reflect what happened, and add a note saying how and when it was sent.
The note is saved in the event's history.
Managing the event through its statuses
A compensation event moves through these statuses: Potential, Notified, Quotation Submitted, Under Review, Implemented and Rejected.
Potential: you have created it and may still be pricing it.
Notified: you have told the Project Manager about it.
Quotation Submitted: your quotation has been sent.
Under Review: the Project Manager is considering the quotation.
Implemented: the change has been agreed and applied. Select this once you have the Project Manager's acceptance.
Rejected: the event was not accepted. You can see it under the All tab but not the Open tab.
Every time you change the status, you can add a note. The notes and changes appear in the event's history, which gives you a dated record of what happened and when. You can also leave comments on an event.

If the event began as an early warning, the event links back to it. Select the link to jump to the early warning.

Reminders
NEC sets short time limits for replies and quotations. Coreloops checks your open compensation events every day and prompts you before time runs out, using the periods in your project's NEC contract details.
Project Manager reply (clause 61.4) and reply to a quotation (clause 62.3): two days before it is due, Coreloops emails the people who received your notice or quotation as a reminder to reply.
If a reply is overdue: from the first overdue day, you (the event owner) are prompted to send a reminder notice.
Quotation due: five days before your quotation is due, you receive a reminder.
Deemed acceptance (clause 62.6): two days before, but only if your contract provides for it.
Things to know:
Coreloops never sends the contractual reminder notice automatically. It prompts you, and you decide.
Reminders stop once the time limit no longer applies, for example when the event reaches Implemented or Rejected.
Events you recorded by hand, without sending them from Coreloops, do not trigger emails to the Project Manager.
Early warnings do not currently have reminders.
Reminders are a prompt to help you act in time. Check the time limits in your contract. Coreloops does not give legal advice and does not replace your own contract administration.
Publishing to your activity schedule or BOQ
When an event is agreed, publish it so its value shows up in your commercial picture.

Open the compensation event and select Publish. The button is in the top bar, and you can also publish from the summary page.
Preview what will be added. Coreloops shows the sections and months the added items and omissions will go into.
Confirm. The event's items now appear in your activity schedule or BOQ as their own section, and the event is shown as published.
What changes after publishing:
Your original scope stays visible, and each published event shows separately.
On an activity schedule organised by calendar month, the By Month summary shows the event as its own row with a running total. See Setting up and managing NEC projects.
Published values feed your payment applications as normal. See Payment Applications.
Downloading and exporting
Download (top bar) saves the event as a PDF.
Export register: from the compensation events register, export the list to Excel.
Export the schedule: from the activity schedule or BOQ, choose whether to include a summary, a tab per compensation event, and which columns.
